Painting Neko

November 2020 Husky Fur, Wooden Table, Foam Board, Felting Needle, Digital Photos Printed Does a painting have to be painted? Finding inspiration in the things around me, I employed needle felting and dog fur to express an idea of time, identity, and emotional memory. Central to this work is its innovation and substitution, breaking boundaries of painting, moving image, and performance while combining all these elements. Using still images to document myself felting the fur of my dog “Neko”.
